Before I commence this brief teaching, you must understand that every friendship, relationship, or association is not by force but by choice, except when someone is under the influence of an evil force, and relationships formed under such influence always end in disaster. Know for certain that association is not merely for socialization or party spirit, as it were. Association is for activation, assimilation, motivation, impartation, and acceleration.
ASSIMILATION: is the process of receiving new facts or of responding to new situations in conformity with what is already available to consciousness. (Merriam-webster dictionary).
ACTIVATION: The act of making something start or making it start working. (Cambridge dictionary).
MOTIVATION: The act or process of giving someone a reason for doing something (Merriam-webster dictionary).
IMPARTATION: The act of imparting something (such as knowledge or wisdom): a granting or communication of something held in store. (Merriam-webster dictionary).
ACCELERATION: the act or process of moving faster or happening more quickly. physics: the rate of change of velocity with respect to time. MW.
Acceleration: Rate at which velocity changes with time, in terms of both speed and direction.

If time is giving to any relationship and it is not making you better, get out from it before it destroys you.
Know for sure, no association will ever leave you neutral. Associations will either cause you distinction or distraction, it will either construct your life or cause you destruction, you will either gain acceleration or cause you stagnation. Yes, it will never keep you neutral. This is why you must be careful the kind of friendship you keep.
The case of Amnon is a very good example how wrong association can destroy a destiny or even result to premature death.
“So Jonadab said to him, “Lie down on your bed and pretend to be ill. And when your father comes to see you, say to him, ‘Please let my sister Tamar come and give me food, and prepare the food in my sight, that I may see it and eat it from her hand.’ ” 6 Then Amnon lay down and pretended to be ill; and when the king came to see him, Amnon said to the king, “Please let Tamar my sister come and make a couple of cakes for me in my sight, that I may eat from her hand.” 2 Samuel 13:5-6. What transpired in this case is deeply demonic. Among all the women on earth, Amnon did not see a woman to marry or be with except his own sister. If he had a good friend, that friend would have said to him, “Are you sick? Tamar is your sister. If you need a woman, there are many out there.” Instead, he was advised to pretend to be sick and ask his father to send Tamar to prepare food for him. That demonic decision eventually cost him his life two years later. Read the entire chapter for full details. Amnon’s association led to his destruction. That will not be your case in Jesus’ Name.
You are dating someone, and right in the courtship you are already experiencing physical abuse, yet you are saying he or she will change. You will soon discover that you are dealing with a panel beater while thinking you are in a relationship. Perhaps you want to get out of that abusive relationship but feel that you cannot. In many cases, you are under an evil influence and need deliverance immediately. Hear this: some of you who use charms or voodoo to get married may succeed in getting married, but you will never be able to sustain the marriage. Satan can never offer anything good to anyone. That marriage will eventually end in destruction. I always tell people: beauty without character will end in disaster, because humanity without divinity equals calamity.
Dr. Paul Enenche of Dunamis Church, Abuja, Nigeria, shared a story of how he was traveling at night from Abuja to Lokoja, Kogi State. Their vehicle’s headlamp was not bright. However, a faster vehicle with a brighter headlamp overtook them. He told the driver to follow that vehicle. Whenever the vehicle ahead maneuvered around a pothole, their driver did the same. Even though their headlamp was poor, because they followed a faster vehicle with a brighter light, they were able to arrive earlier.
You can see that their association with that vehicle caused acceleration. Be careful of the friendships you keep before it is too late. One very important thing about association is this: when you know your destination or who you want to become, it helps you make the right choice about who you associate with. That has been the challenge of humanity, many times, we do not know what we want or who we want to become. For example, you want to become a successful CEO of a global business organization, yet you spend hours daily with someone who has no vision beyond babysitting. It is like trying to drive to Honolulu, Hawaii, with your car, knowing it is an island. That equals foolishness.
The Bible says, “As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend”. Proverbs 27:17. Make your choice, and God will help you get there in Jesus Name. Be blessed.
